TRANSPORT TO PADANG BESAR
1- TRAIN
There is a daily express train of the Kereta Api Tanah Melayu (KTM) between Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok, which actually comes from Singapore. Somewhere between 16.00 and 17.00 hours the train departs from KLSentral in Kuala Lumpur.You can choose first or second class sleeper accommodation, or third class (seat only). The train comes to a halt at PADANG BESAR, where a very long platform connects the Malaysian service with its Thai counterpart.
2-BUS
You can also do the journey by bus. Buses from Kuala Lumpur are leaving from the Puduraya Bus Station (counter 21, 22 and 23). These buses are going daily. Times of departure are: 9.30am, 10.30 am, 9.30pm and 10.30pm. The fare is about RM40.- Please contact the operators for most updated information. You'll arrive at Jalan Masjid in Padang Besar.There are also buses going from other cities to the Thai Border, like from Penang. on Penang they will leave from Sungai Nibong Bus Terminal.

GUA KELAM RECREATIONAL PARK
Gua Kelam, Kaki Bukit refers to the 370-metre long limestone cave at the small town of Kaki Bukit. Its name literally means "at a foothill (Kaki Bukit) lies a dark cave (Gua Kelam)". Access to the cave is by way of a suspension bridge. The uniqueness of approach, as well as the experience of walking along the bridge, make a visit to this place an intriguing and adventurous experience.
A subterranean stream flows in the limestone range near Kaki Bukit for about a quarter of a mile long. As in other limestone areas, the stream has built a long cavern over the centuries. This physiographic phenomenon was enlarged throughout the length of the underground stream in 1935 by a resident Englishman who saw it as a marvellous way of transporting tin ore from a mine located near the stream entrance through the underground cavern.A wooden walkway hangs suspended throughout the length of the underground cavern providing a wondrous means of communication from Kaki Bukit to a valley on the opposite end - the Wan Tangga Valley.

SNAKE & REPTILE FARM
The Snake & Reptile Farm in Sungai Batu Pahat, Perlis, is one of the few tourist attractions in this northernmost state in Malaysia. It is located 12km north of Kangar on Route R11. The farm holds about 200 snakes from 23 different species. The farm is run by the Institute of Medical Research. Many of the snakes are venomous, as the purpose of the farm is in support of antivenom serum research and development. In addition to snakes, the farm also houses crocodiles, iguanas and other reptiles. Some of the reptiles are kept in open-air enclosures while others are behind glass.
